Upper Ojai is located along highway 150, (Ojai Santa Paula Road) between the City of Ojai and Santa Paula. Upper Ojai is a rural community where homes sit on 1 to 40 acres. Once you leave the City of Ojai you will climb high up into the hills on what is known as the Dennison Grade.

When you reach the top there is a place to stop and look back out over the grandeur of the Ojai Valley.

Upper Ojai is home to the Happy Valley School which is a private boarding school for grades 9 to 12. Happy Valley offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum for grades 9 through 12. Along with the Happy Valley School you will also find The Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts. This center celebrates the life and work of Beatrice Wood while presenting exhibitions of contemporary art, workshops and events. Another famous institution that can be found in Upper Ojai is The Ojai Foundation. This is a place where people come together in a beautiful country setting to study, learn and interact with each other. Larry Hagman, the famous actor form the TV series Dallas lives in Upper Ojai in a place called "Heaven." This home is currently for sale. It is said that his home commands one of the most spectacular views in all of Ventura County. Larry is a great guy and is always helping out with community and charitable events.
